Meta is connected — test-send uses the configured WABA.

Create template — 3 steps

Step 1 — Set up

Template name (lowercase letters, numbers, underscores)

Language

Step 2 — Edit

Header type

Header text (only used for a Text header, 60 characters or fewer)

0 / 60 characters.

A media header is not uploaded by this draft — only the header type is saved. The media itself is set when the template is submitted to Meta.

Body is required. Use *bold* and _italic_ WhatsApp formatting. Insert a variable where the customer's own value goes.

Body

0 / 1024 characters.

Variable type

Named variables send with their names; numbered variables send in position order. In numbered mode every insert adds the next number.

Footer text (optional, 60 characters or fewer)

0 / 60 characters.

Buttons are optional. Up to 3 buttons.

Button type

Button text

Website address

Phone number

Other button types (complete-flow, offer-code, contact-sharing, WhatsApp-call) are not offered here because the submit path only sends quick-reply, website-link and phone-number buttons.

Custom message validity period

Validity period

If no custom period is set, Meta applies its standard period. Upvort does not set that standard.

Step 3 — Submit for Review

Check the live preview on the right. Saving creates a draft only — it still needs Meta approval before it can be sent. Approval comes from Meta sync only; nothing here marks a template approved. A customised library template is also just a draft needing review.

Live preview — phone style

Type a body to see it here.

Variables stay as bracketed placeholders, e.g. {{customer_name}}. Appearance may vary by device.

Template library

Starter templates written by Upvort. Use one as written to create a draft, or customise it in the editor first. Either way the result is a draft needing Meta approval — nothing here is ready to send until Meta approves it.

Before you create

Required Meta permissions: whatsapp_business_management, whatsapp_business_messaging. Performance: delivery/read/quality data appears only after real sends and takes time; quality stays Unknown until Meta has enough volume.
