WhatsApp Setup Wizard · 3 steps
Three steps to connect WhatsApp: developer app & webhook, permanent token, then phone number ID & business account ID.
Step 1 — Developer App & Webhook
Create a Meta app, add the WhatsApp product, and pick only the WhatsApp use case. Keep the app Unpublished for testing.
Callback URL (copy it):
Verify token: invent your own simple no-space word, paste it in Meta's Verify token field AND in the panel's secure flow. The panel never shows it back.
Subscribe: messages and message_template_status_update (plus components/quality/handovers when offered).
Step 2 — Permanent Token
In Meta: create a System User with Admin role, Never expiry, and exactly the two WhatsApp permissions (whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management). Then paste the token into the token field on the Client Onboarding page through the secure flow.
Step 3 — Phone Number ID & Business Account ID
In Meta: WABA ID is the Messaging account ID; Phone Number ID is a different ID (the one in the send URL). Copy both identifiers from the app's API setup view, enter them on the Client Onboarding page, and the account connects automatically when all three verify.
Before you finish
- Developer app created, WhatsApp product added, app kept Unpublished for testing; webhook callback URL copied, verify token set in Meta and in the panel secure flow, messages and template-status updates subscribed.
- System User token (Admin role, Never expiry, exactly the two WhatsApp permissions) entered on Client Onboarding through the secure flow.
- WABA ID and Phone Number ID entered on Client Onboarding, and the account connects automatically when all three verify.
Do NOT publish the app for the test phase.
